Friendship Lions is actively engaging the community and those in need!
Our purpose is to better participate and serve, through the use of email and the internet. People with disabilities, folks who are home-bound individuals with time and distant constraints and all- around good neighbors desire to serve.
All serving is not necessarily with dollars; acts of kindness and helping our neighbors in need also counts. As an example, we have a member, Lion Bob Warner, albeit disabled, plays piano and accordion at a public performance level and entertains at nursing homes, churches, camps and parades as a Lion. Another Lion Cindy works as a group home supervisor and assists Lions with disabilities with their computer emails and transportation.
Most of our members will be involved in some fund raising and hands on service in our communities. Our distant members, in Tennessee, and Duluth have a strong interest in belonging to Lion Clubs that reach the disabled and may choose to become associate Lion members in their local Clubs.
People with disabilities, while desiring to serve in a meaningful way in their neighborhoods, often need guidance, accessibility, project ideas and outlets to serve. They should not be void
of the joy of giving kindness and serving. With computers they can be reached and reach out with the help of fellow Friendship Lions.
